About Survival Belt and the Napanee Knife Store: Are You Prepared!
Ok just kidding! This is not a photo of me!
We live in a world where rules and laws have crept into our lives to protect us from absolutely everything, including ourselves. At the same time, global catastrophes and disasters seem ever present – climate crises, wars and viruses. For all the rules and nannying, we seem to be less safe today than at anytime in the last 50 years.
Personally, I believe in being prepared for what may come, in putting some reasonable thought into “What would I do in a worst-case scenario?” I do not think having a go-bag packed with useful equipment is a bad idea and I have always travelled with essential tools on my “survival-belt”. These tools have saved me on more than one occasion during my travels around the world to flood, famine, disease and war zones. I still use the tools on my belt everyday. None of this makes me a crazy prepper or a doomsday prophet, just someone who thinks ahead.
When I looked at products that I wanted for my go-bag and saw the cost of importing and the difficulty in sourcing these kind of products, I decided to test items myself and then put them online for sale to save you some of the trouble. Following the online success we opened our knife store in Napanee, ON.
Survival Belt specialises in knives and tools that are useful on a weekend trip, a holiday or an expedition to a far-flung jungle but also would fit well in that bag that you pack and keep under the stairs…Just in case!
There’s no point in fearing an unknown and unknowable future; think through each scenario that you’re worried about and have a basic plan of what you would do in the unlikely event of. Be prepared and in focusing your plan you overcome your fears. Preparing for a disaster before it happens infinitely increases your chances of a best possible outcome and helps you sleep at night.
This isn't me either! Even if I were a doomsday prophet, I wouldn’t recommend stockpiling toilet paper!
